How to reach the event9 € Ticket: It is highly recommended that participants purchase the so-called 9 € Ticket valid for one months for all local public transport systems (bus and subway) including local and regional trains.
See https://www.hvv.de/en/nine-euro-ticket for more information. It's a bargain!
By airport: Participants should ensure when booking flights to Germany, they book to arrive in Hamburg Airport. Hamburg City and Hamburg Airport are very well serviced by public transport (both bus and railway).
In the main arrival hall at the airport, follow the signs ("S") to the underground subway station. Before you finally go down to the platform, buy a ticket at the ticket maschines to HH-Othmarschen station (valid for city inner circles A+B). However, best deal is to buy the 9 € ticket (see above). There is only one platform and one train, the S1 train. The train will take you all the way to Othmarschen station via Hamburg main railway station (±45 min). At Othmarschen station follow the majority of people and take the escalator down to street level, turn right and walk to the bus stop. There are two bus stops for bus number 1, it is important to take the one in the direction of Schenefelder Holt (direction horse raicing track / DESY)! Ask the bus driver in case of doubt. Get off at bus stop Hünengrab/DESY. The ticket you puchased at the airport is valid for the whole ride. Walk to the DESY entrance gate and ask for a map of the DESY premises at the reception desk. At the reception desk you can also pick up the keys for the guest house in case you arrive late (evening/night).

By car: Leave the motorway (A7) exit HH-Bahrenfeld. If you come from the south, turn left into the main street (Osdorfer Weg). If you come from the north, turn right into Osdorfer Weg. After ±1.8 km turn right into Notkestraße and after 400 m on the left is located the main entrance gate to the DESY premises. A limited number of parking spaces can be found on the premises.
